Meet Pearlolo
Pearlolo pieces start with hand-selected, natural freshwater pearls—mostly baroque—chosen for beautiful luster and minimal blemishes. We pair each pearl with gold- or silver-plated copper accents and our signature hand-sculpted, hand-painted resin hats, then complete every design by hand from concept to setting.
Because every pearl is naturally one-of-a-kind—and every step is handmade—no two pieces are ever exactly the same. With an artful look at an approachable price, Pearlolo is made for gifting, everyday styling, and collecting. Ships from Chicago, and arrives gift-ready with a gift box.
Made to be One of a Kind
Pearlolo is handcrafted jewelry made with natural pearls and thoughtfully chosen metal details. Each pearl is hand-set, and our tiny hats and floral accents are sculpted by hand from UV-cured resin—then finished piece by piece. No molds, no mass production—just small-batch creations with real character.

Quick Answers
What materials are your pieces made from, and how are they made?
Our pieces are handcrafted using natural freshwater cultured pearls, gold-plated brass metal components, and hand-sculpted UV-cured resin details (such as hats and floral accents).
Each pearl is hand-set—no mass production. Because pearls are natural, you may see small surface characteristics (tiny lines, spots, or subtle texture). These are normal and not considered defects. We carefully select pearls and avoid anything with overly noticeable imperfections.
Why does my pearl show purple/pink/green tones — is it dyed?
Not at all — those rainbow-like tones are a natural effect called “orient”.
Real pearls are made of many microscopic layers of nacre. When light hits those layers, it creates soft overtones like lavender, blush, gold, or green.
These colors may look stronger or softer depending on lighting (sunlight vs. indoor light) and your screen settings, which is completely normal. Every pearl is naturally unique, so no two pieces will ever reflect light the exact same way.
Are your pieces one of a kind? How can a pearl be heart- or star-shaped — is it still a real pearl?
Yes. Every natural pearl is different, so each finished piece has its own character. We may recreate a similar design, but no two pearls (and no two pieces) will be exactly the same.
and Yes — they’re genuine freshwater cultured pearls.
In nature, pearls can form in many organic shapes, and in pearl farming, some pearls can also be gently guided into playful shapes while still growing layer by layer inside the mollusk. That means you’re still getting real pearl nacre, real luster, and natural variation — not plastic, glass, or resin.
Because pearls are formed naturally, you may notice slight differences in shape and surface detail, which is part of what makes each piece one of a kind.
Will my piece look exactly like the photos?
All of our product photos are real, unfiltered shots (no color editing). We guarantee the piece you receive is the exact item shown on the product page.
That said, slight color differences can happen due to screen settings/brightness and lighting conditions (daylight vs. indoor light, angles). Any minor variation in how the pearl appears is normal.
How do I care for my pearl jewelry?
Pearls are beautiful and delicate. For best wear:
- Put jewelry on after lotion, perfume, hairspray, or makeup (let products fully dry first).
- Avoid wearing pearls while showering, swimming, exercising, or doing heavy chores.
- Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after wearing to remove oils and sweat.
- Store separately in a soft pouch (don’t let pearls rub against metal or other jewelry).
- Keep away from heat, sunlight, and humidity for long periods.
With proper care, pearls keep their glow longer. Over time, pearls can naturally warm in tone—this is normal, especially with frequent exposure to sweat, fragrance, or moisture.
Is it hypoallergenic?
Metal sensitivity varies by person. Our pieces use gold-plated brass unless otherwise stated. If you have sensitive skin, please check the material listed on the product page and feel free to contact us before ordering.
Will the charms or metal details fall off?
Our metal details are set into the pearl and sealed with a clear protective coating around the edges for extra security. Under normal wear, they should not come loose.
We also perform a simple durability check after finishing—each piece is gently tested for everyday handling.
Please note: severe impact, heavy pressure, or intentional pulling can damage any handmade jewelry.
Are the pearls real? Will they discolor? Will the metal tarnish?
Yes—every pearl used in our pieces (including tiny shaped pearls like hearts/stars) is a real natural freshwater cultured pearl.
Pearls are organic gems and can gradually change tone if exposed to moisture, sweat, perfumes, or harsh chemicals. Following the care tips above helps slow that process.
Our metal components are gold-plated brass (and we may introduce sterling silver components in select designs). The exact materials are always listed on each product page. With normal wear and proper care (especially avoiding perfumes and water), the plating typically holds up well; however, any plated metal may fade over time depending on body chemistry and wear frequency.
